(Sr.) Electrical Engineering Manager
Location: Farmington, CT
The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the Electrical Engineering Department to design, prototype, test, and analyze hardware and software used in motor control and interfacing across residential, commercial, and industrial applications. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and people development to drive innovation, ensure product quality, and support organizational growth.
In this position, the manager directs department activities related to new product development, modifications of existing designs, production process improvements, and the creation of test procedures. They ensure that engineering deliverables meet performance, cost, compliance, and timeline requirements while developing and executing long-term electrical engineering strategies aligned with the company’s technology roadmaps. The manager proactively identifies and evaluates emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence, IoT integration, and energy efficiency improvements—for potential application in motor control and related products.
Additionally, the Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for hiring, training, and developing a multidisciplinary team that includes hardware and software engineers, PCB layout engineers, assistant managers, and technicians. This includes providing mentorship, conducting performance reviews, and supporting career development opportunities, with a strong emphasis on building a succession pipeline and fostering diversity and inclusion within the department.
