Job Title: Application Engineer
Department:  Application Engineering

Summary:
This position is responsible for providing technical application assistance and clarification for customers, Sales and Customer Service personnel.

Essential Functions of the Job:
The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accomodations, to perform the following:

  • Serve as the primary technical communication link with customers to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Review customer specifications to assist the customer and Customer Service in defining the proper air-moving device for specific applications.
  • Provide application assistance to Sales personnel and customers.
  • Provide technical clarification of communications and documentation for or to our factories and regional sales offices, distributors, Customer Service and customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of all products sold by ebm‑papst Inc.
  • Visit customers and suppliers as required.
  • Conduct technical discussions with customers, Sales personnel, Customer Service and other ebm‑papst personnel.
  • Assist customers, Sales personnel and Customer Service in cross-referencing competitor products to products sold by ebm‑papst.
  • Provide technical support, for assigned territories to Management, Sales personnel and the sales territories.
  • Manage assigned projects as the key technical person and work with the respective Sales personnel concerning commercial issues.
  • Use the following software programs when performing the job: MAC-PAC, Microsoft Access, Excel and Word.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Recommended Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering; a minimum four years of mechanical/electrical related experience; actively pursuing a degree in an engineering or related technical discipline or a combination of education and related experience.

Job Title: Supply Chain and Production Planner
Location: Johnson City, TN
Department: Manufacturing

Summary: 
This position is responsible for planning the production schedules and the material supply chain to ensure controlled flow of shop orders released to meet customer and delivery requirements.

Essential Functions of the Job:
The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accomodations, to perform the following:

  • Draw up final assembly schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet customer promised shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders. Monitor actual production versus schedule.
  • Interface with Customer Relations, Engineering, and Production Supervisors to coordinate, monitor, expedite, or defer manufacturing schedules.
  • Work with Production Planning Manager and Production Shift Supervisors to determine daily and weekly capacity.
  • Work with sourcing department to ensure all component parts are available to meet start date build schedules and coordinate with production to ensure all finished goods manufacturing orders are completed by the scheduled due dates.
  • Coordination of outside process orders including the creation, monitoring, tracking and occasional expediting of phantom purchase orders. Handle all aspects in the proper preparation of shipments including packing and documentation for outside processes.
  • Review/audit of final MO’s issues for correct accounting of raw materials going into manufacturing orders and subsequent closing of MO’s.
  • Provide feedback, monitor status, measure progress and forecast probability of successfully meeting the production schedule deadlines to management and Customer Relations.
  • Use and maintain Part Master files to support Materials Requirements Planning system fabrication requirements and on time delivery to customers.
  • Manage all shop floor paperwork required to manufacture assigned product lines.
  • Work with Engineering to provide material analysis for change cut-ins dates and coordinate all new product introductions.
  • Use the following software programs when performing this job: MRP II, CAD, Shop Floor Control, Capacity Planning, MO Maintenance, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
