Commutate electronically, benefit economically.
In ventilation and air conditioning technology, the efficiency of the fans used has become a key issue. Not only legislation, but also the growing environmental awareness of companies and consumers as well as the recent sharp rise in energy prices demand ever more energy-efficient solutions.
Conventional fans with asynchronous motors (AC motors) can no longer meet these requirements. The future therefore belongs to EC technology, which ebm‑papst is driving forward. In principle, an EC motor is an electronically commutated, permanent magnet synchronous motor. The decisive advantage is a significantly higher efficiency of up to 90 % compared to 70-80 % for AC motors. This not only means better use of primary energy, but also less heat loss and therefore a longer service life.
ebm‑papst was one of the first manufacturers to recognize the economic and ecological advantages of EC technology. We launched the world's first EC/DC compact fan back in 1965 - 30 years before any other manufacturer. With GreenTech, we gave our conviction a visible sign in 2010 and are thus pursuing a strict holistic approach - from forward-looking development and environmentally friendly production to economic benefits for our customers. Today, our development lead is reflected in the world's largest range of EC fans and motors.
