The ECI 63.40 drive with K5 electronics and Optimax63 transmission from ebm-papst is particularly well suited to demanding automation applications.

Outstanding control characteristics, precise positioning capability, high energy efficiency and compact designs are required for drives in automated production and assembly, handling systems and industrial robots. Flexible and reliable drive systems with high-performance connectivity like the ECI series of drives from ebm-papst are ideal for such applications.

The ECI 63.xx K5 can be used as a drive for position, speed, current or torque control and thus supports communication and motion profiles as per IEC 61800-7 (DS402). Thanks to the drive’s integrated intelligence, it can be programmed like a PLC. For example, one function enables virtually unlimited control of the drive via its integrated I/Os without the need for CANopen motion commands. The drive can even be used as a CAN master, meaning that, for simpler applications, a higher-level PLC can be dispensed with and networks can be set up to work as standalone applications instead.

At its booth, ebm-papst will also be presenting drive solutions with high-quality EC motors with output from 50 to 750 watts that are used in the SIMATIC Micro-Drive system from Siemens. The EC motors with integrated encoders can be flexibly combined in a modular system with transmissions and brakes for use in a variety of applications. With SIMATIC Micro-Drive, Siemens expanded its range of drive systems for safety extra-low voltage in April 2019.
