Cooling towers are generally employed to provide cooling for processes, installations or buildings. Excess heat which cannot be used is dissipated to the ambient air. The ebm-papst range includes both axial and centrifugal fans with EC technology especially for this application. Tailor-made corrosion protection measures permit the use of energy-saving EC fans in cooling towers, where they are exposed to harsh environmental conditions. In his presentation, Martin Schulz will be explaining the advantages offered by EC fans in terms of efficiency, control characteristics and reliability, and describing some concrete retrofitting projects that demonstrate the energy-saving potential of EC fans in cooling towers. The lecture entitled "EC fans for Cooling Towers: Tailor-made corrosion protection for highest reliability" will be held twice in English. It is aimed primarily at series device manufacturers, specialist businesses and cooling tower planners and operators.
