/PRNewswire/ -- ebm‑papst SEA Pte. Ltd., the world’s leading manufacturer of fans and motors, announced today that a curated selection of its RadiPac Metal Impeller and RadiCal Electronically Commutated (EC) fans series has been awarded the Singapore Green Building Product (SGBP) Certificate. This esteemed certification underscores ebm‑papst's dedication to sustainability and innovation in the field of green building technologies.

The SGBP certification is a testament to the exceptional environmental performance of ebm‑papst's products. Under stringent assessments by the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), SGBP-certified products meet rigorous criteria covering their environmental impact throughout their life cycle, making them a sustainable choice for ventilation applications. As Singapore continues to embrace a sustainable future, the SGBP certification aligns with the country's commitment to the Singapore Green Plan 2030 – to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 36% from 2005 levels by 2030 and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

The certified RadiPac Metal Impeller and RadiCal EC Centrifugal Fan are exceptional innovations in ebm‑papst's lineup. The RadiPac’s newly developed high-performance electronics, combined with its aerodynamically optimised impeller, enables air flows of up to 20,000 m3/h and over 2,000 Pa pressures. It is best suited for air-handling units (AHUs). It operates efficiently and quietly, thanks to its flow-optimised blade profiles. Selected models also contain an integrated vibration sensor that allows resonance points to be ‘passed over’ to prevent premature bearing damage and ensure enhanced durability. In addition, it is armed with 4 kW and 8 kW electronic drives, the latter setting a new benchmark as the most powerful drive in its class. Its plug-and-play system can be used in a cube and supports a bracket design.

The RadiCal EC fan complements the RadiPac with its compact dimensions, higher speed, and improved air performance, boasting features like infinitely variable speed control and dimensions identical to previous models, which allow for easy replacement of existing devices. Armed with a durable EC motor, this next-generation fan is quieter thanks to reduced impeller flow losses. The RadiCal fan is ideal for smaller AHUs and fan coil units.

Significant reductions in energy consumption can be achieved by retrofitting these fans into the Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems of buildings. This is paramount as ACMV systems consume a substantial portion of a building's energy, with fans being major energy consumers. Notably, conventional alternating current (AC) belt-driven fans, common in existing buildings in Southeast Asia, consume more power than EC fans.

Using SGBP-certified products, such as the RadiPac Metal Impeller and RadiCal EC fans, can contribute to achieving higher Green Mark ratings as these can accrue points that count towards a project’s Green Mark rating.
