Siemens introduced its new drive family member with ebm-papst drives at the Hannover Messe trade show for industry in April 2019. ebm-papst provides high-quality EC motors with output powers of 50 to 750 watts. In its modular system, EC motors with integrated encoders can be flexibly combined with transmissions and brakes for use in a range of applications. Diverse applications for safety extra-low voltage The combination with the Simatic Micro-Drive creates a compact drive solution in the safety extra-low voltage range. The servo drive system is suitable for a wide range of applications: for precise positioning tasks in shuttles for stacker cranes and storage rack systems, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and medical technology, for example. ECI series: compact, rugged and versatile The ECI motor series in sizes ECI-42 and ECI-63 are predestined for these applications. The drives have highly dynamic, 3-phase internal rotor motors in EC technology with low cogging torque. They deliver high efficiency and high power density in compact design. A rugged, noise-reduced ball bearing system ensures a long service life. The basic motor with the K1 electronics module is designed for operation with external control electronics, satisfies the requirements for degree of protection IP 54 and has an industrial plug. About Siemens Simatic Micro-Drive The individually combinable system with UL-certified components consists of flexibly usable drives, the PDC (ProfiDriveControl) servo controller and connecting cables. The system meets requirements for network-compatibility via a Profinet interface on the controller and Safety Integrated requirements with certified safety functions. Easy connection to Simatic controllers significantly shortens engineering time and integration into Siemens automation technology via the TIA portal simplifies commissioning and service. The seamless Simatic Micro-Drive system is available in four housing sizes for motor powers between 50 and 1,000 watts. All Safety Integrated functions can be activated via the TIA portal.
