ebm‑papst was one of the first stops on the weeklong tour, which consisted of 20 manufacturers and workforce development organizations across the state to showcase the importance of manufacturing to Connecticut’s economy.

Led by Mark Shiring, Global Head of Regulatory & Public Affairs at ebm‑papst, the visit gave participants an inside look at the company’s operations, including its manufacturing capabilities, engineering expertise, and ongoing commitment to innovation. The visit also included a news conference featuring CBIA President and CEO Chris DiPentima, Connecticut Deputy Commissioner of Economic and Community Development Kirti Patel, and other industry leaders.

“Connecticut has a strong talent pool across all areas of our business, and its long history of high-tech manufacturing and research and development makes it a natural fit for ebm‑papst,” said Shiring. “We develop high-technology products that support critical infrastructure, so having access to a highly skilled workforce and an environment that values innovation is extremely important to us. Connecticut has the talent, technology, and manufacturing heritage that allow us to continue growing and innovating here.”

During the tour, participants had the opportunity to see how ebm‑papst combines technical expertise, advanced manufacturing, and collaboration to develop solutions for a range of industries. The visit also highlighted the experience of the company’s workforce, with all three employee guides bringing more than 20 years of service at ebm‑papst.

Manufacturing remains a key part of Connecticut’s economy, accounting for approximately 11% of the state’s gross domestic product and supporting more than 156,000 jobs. Through its annual tour, CBIA connects policymakers, educators, business leaders, and other stakeholders with manufacturers across the state to highlight the industry’s contributions and explore opportunities to support its continued growth.

ebm‑papst thanks CBIA, the tour’s partners and sponsors, and the participating manufacturing organizations for their efforts to strengthen Connecticut’s industrial community. The company remains committed to building on the state’s strong manufacturing heritage through local expertise, technological innovation, and continued investment in its Farmington operations.
