On September 12, ebm‑papst had the privilege of hosting nearly two dozen students from Penn State University at our facility in Farmington, Connecticut. The group included members of both the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), representing a diverse mix of the next generation of innovators and leaders in engineering.
During their visit, students enjoyed lunch and introductions with our team, followed by a tour of our production area, hands-on discussions in our applications engineering lab, and an inside look at our R&D office, where they explored topics like design, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The day wrapped up with a Q&A session covering career paths, the interview process, and what we look for in future engineers.
At ebm‑papst, we are committed to supporting and inspiring all engineering students while also creating opportunities that encourage women to pursue rewarding careers in the field. Partnering with organizations like SWE and ASME allows us to share insights into real-world applications of engineering while helping to strengthen the pipeline of diverse talent.
Thank you to Penn State SWE and ASME for spending the day with us; we look forward to seeing the impact you’ll make in the future of engineering!
