Cooling towers and other large refrigeration and air conditioning applications often use fans measuring up to two meters in size. The EC motor that runs them must be powerful and robust. But that alone is no longer enough now or in the future. Energy efficiency and intelligent control options are becoming increasingly important for large fans too. Unfortunately, there has been virtually no alternative to conventional AC solutions until now.

But at last there is: ebm‑papst presents the first 20 kW shaft power EC motors with a proven external rotor design – compact, intelligent, sustainable and cost saving. With these motors, we have expanded the range of applications for highly efficient EC technology significantly upwards. This means that applications with a large air performance can finally benefit from the advantages of EC technology and the tried-and-tested external rotor design.
