Increasing demands for energy efficiency, operational safety, and comfort are making medical applications more complex. Today the medical field requires holistic concepts that go beyond individual components. ebm‑papst will be highlighting this approach at Compamed in Düsseldorf from November 16 to 19, 2026. In Hall 8A at Booth D02, the company will present solutions for medical devices as well as retrofit concepts for existing ventilation systems.

Taking a holistic view of applications

Whether it’s ventilators, diagnostic imaging, laboratory equipment, or technical building systems in hospitals, ventilation technology performs numerous critical tasks for safety and overall function in medical technology. At the same time, demands are growing for lower noise levels while achieving greater energy efficiency and controllability. It is therefore crucial to optimally integrate aerodynamics, motor technology, and electronics into the respective application. Thanks to this systems expertise, ebm‑papst supports manufacturers in designing medical devices that are efficient, reliable, and future-proof.

A prime example is the AxiForce series. These compact axial fans are suitable for applications requiring high airflow and low noise emissions. Typical areas of application range from CT and MRI systems to mammography equipment or laboratory and disinfection devices. By combining aerodynamically optimized fan technology with intelligent control, AxiForce ensures reliable cooling of sensitive components while also contributing to a comfortable environment for users and patients.

For applications with high airflow requirements, ebm‑papst is also presenting the RVE45 radial fan. Thanks to integrated control electronics, airflow and pressure can be precisely regulated, making the solution particularly suitable for ventilators, alternating-pressure mattresses, and other medical applications where quiet operation and high reliability are required. The compact design also facilitates integration into device configurations where space is limited.

Retrofits ensure future-proofing

In addition to developing new products for the medical field, ebm‑papst is at the forefront of meeting the growing demand to modernize existing infrastructure. Retrofit concepts featuring modern EC fans and FanGrid solutions enable hospitals and care facilities to efficiently update ventilation systems and design them to meet future requirements. As a system provider, ebm‑papst supports such projects from analysis through implementation.
