The new EU Regulation EU2024/1834 will bring stricter efficiency requirements and expanded documentation obligations into force from July 24, 2026. Fans that are built into other products will benefit from a transition period up to July 24, 2027. All fans with an electric drive power of 125 W to 500 kW will be impacted. The minimum efficiency requirement must be met at the best point of the overall system (rotor, stator, motor). The Regulation also specifies the documentation requirements for manufacturers, distributors, and users, which include information on repairability in addition to efficiency. If components are sourced and installed from different suppliers, it is the equipment manufacturer's responsibility to provide evidence of EC conformity. The consequences of failing to provide evidence of this or of ineffectively implementing limit values can be significant. In view of these challenges, ebm‑papst is presenting specially developed complete plug-and-play solutions at SPS that already meet the stricter efficiency values and are CE compliant.
