The ebm‑papst Group, a leading global manufacturer of fans and motors headquartered in Mulfingen, has published a new voluntary sustainability report online. Across 72 pages, the Group provides information on its sustainability projects and initiatives from the 2025/26 financial year.

“For us, sustainability and economic success are inextricably linked. Against this backdrop, we view climate and environmental protection as an integral part of our corporate management. At the same time, we take a holistic view of sustainability: The report provides a comprehensive overview of our activities from the past fiscal year across all dimensions of sustainability – environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance,” said Harald Klaiber, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Transformation Officer (CTrO) of the ebm‑papst Group.

Climate & Environment

Among other things, ebm‑papst reports on the expansion of its own renewable energy generation. The installed capacity of photovoltaic systems increased to 10.2 MWp in the 2025/26 financial year. New systems are being installed strategically at locations worldwide where economical and efficient use is guaranteed. In total, the electricity generated in-house from gas-fired combined heat and power plants, and photovoltaic systems covers 14.4 per cent of total electricity consumption. In-house solar power generation covers 7.7 percent of total electricity consumption.

The report also presents a comprehensive transition plan for climate protection. This plan consolidates measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the entire value chain and covers Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions. The transition plan further highlights the ebm‑papst Group’s commitment to supporting global climate goals in accordance with the Paris Agreement.

Systems & Solutions

In the “Systems & Solutions” chapter, ebm‑papst demonstrates its approach to innovation, energy efficiency, and resource conservation throughout the entire product lifecycle. The focus is on the “Sustainable Fan Lifecycle,” encompassing digital development, manufacturing, operation, and approaches to the reuse and refurbishment of products and solutions. The sustainability report also highlights ebm‑papst’s evolution from a component manufacturer to a solutions provider: digital services, artificial intelligence, and the NEXAIRA digital ecosystem are generating new opportunities to operate existing systems more efficiently.

People & Corporate Culture

The report also shows how the company creates a work environment in which people can realize their potential. Diversity and inclusion, lifelong learning, health, and effective leadership are integral parts of the company-wide ESG policy. ebm‑papst considers this diversity to be a key factor in achieving innovation, creativity, and sustainable growth. At the same time, the company makes targeted investments in the development of executives, high-potential employees, and the workforce, thereby strengthening a corporate culture based on trust, appreciation, and responsibility.

Partnerships & Responsibilities

In addition to environmental and social issues, the report also highlights how sustainability is integrated into governance, risk management, and supply chains. Through its “Local for Local” approach, the expansion of regional value creation, and the consistent integration of sustainability considerations into procurement and business processes, ebm‑papst strengthens both the resilience of its supply chains and its customer focus. Project examples and social activities featured in the report illustrate ebm‑papst’s social commitment and partnership initiatives.
