ebm‑papst is presenting the third generation of RadiPac radial fans in a metal housing. With high-performance metal impellers, optimized manufacturing processes and intelligent drive technology, these fans meet increasing demands for energy efficiency, fire safety and reliability—both in North America and Asia. The new series was specifically designed for HVAC systems, precision air conditioning units, electronics cooling, cooling towers as well as other refrigeration and air conditioning applications.

Modern manufacturing and material optimization

Modernized sheet metal forming and joining processes produce high-performance impellers that neither melt nor emit smoke in the event of a fire. Greater strength and improved efficiency result from a 3D-formed blade geometry with tight manufacturing tolerances. Hybrid designs combining a metal impeller and a plastic inlet nozzle with a smaller air gap can be manufactured upon request for even greater efficiency.

Universal application and flexible interchangeability

The new fans are available in several sizes with impeller diameters ranging from 280 to 800 mm. They cover a power range from 170 W to 24 kW with an airflow of up to 50,000 m³/h (free discharge) and a pressure increase of approx. 2,500 Pa. The mounting plate and many peripheral components have been designed to allow for easy replacement of older models. Existing components such as inlet grilles and inlet nozzles remain compatible, facilitating universal use and simple integration into existing systems. The series offers both standard and compact versions, making it ideally suited for space-constrained applications.

Electronics, control and reliability

Centrifugal fans are used in many applications and, depending on speed, can generate resonances that stress the bearing system. The automatic resonance detection integrated into the RadiPac protects the bearings during startup, reduces failures and thereby increases reliability. All fans support 0–10 VDC or MODBUS RTU, feature EMC filters and meet all relevant EU and UL certifications. Additionally, remote monitoring of the fans is possible, as is the simple integration of external sensors into the fan control system. The efficient EC motors without rare-earth magnets ensure environmentally friendly, demand-driven and energy-saving operation. With the third generation of RadiPac centrifugal fans in a metal housing, ebm‑papst offers technically sophisticated solutions for demanding HVAC and refrigeration applications.
