Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the Human Resources Department, administering the benefit programs and maintaining personnel records.
Essential Functions of the Job:
The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:
- Record employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, personnel actions, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date/reason for payroll and other reporting purposes.
- Process employment applications and assist in other employment activities.
- Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons.
- Compile and maintain records for use in employee benefit administration.
- Maintain OSHA Record Keeping Log.
- Create new hire packets and perform new hire orientation.
- Assist with open enrollments for employee benefit programs.
- Compile monthly reports and charts.
- Administer benefit programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation.
- Use the following software programs when performing this job: ADP Payroll, HR Profile and ReportSmith as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Manage difficult or emotional employee situations.
- Respond to requests for service and assistance.
- Deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Maintain the quality of the Human Resources Department to service the ebm‑papst organization.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Recommended Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree in a related field; or minimum two years related experience; or combination of education and related experience.
