Test Engineer

Job Title: Test Engineer
Department:  R&D
Location: Farmington, Connecticut

Summary:
Validation planning and support/supervision of tests according to environmental standard test series / ebmpapst internal test standards and customer standards, taking into account specifications and internal capacity constraints.    

Essential Functions of the Job:
The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:

  • Validation planning. Creation and maintenance in coordination with R&D and Engineering
    • Design and process validation plan, as well as test sequence plan
    • Effort and cost planning
    • Schedule / project plan for (A-, B-, C- and D-) sample validation 
  • Definition of test conditions and test methods
    • Review of the specifications for completeness and feasibility of the environmental tests
    • Coordination with the customer and with R&D and Engineering
    • Selection of preliminary tests, e.g. for environmental requirements
  • Realization of tests / validations
    • Capacity and schedule planning of the test equipment in coordination with R&D and Engineering (internal and external)
    • Definition and commissioning of test benches and test equipment for application testing
    • Support / monitoring of R&D and Engineering during
      • the execution of tests according to test conditions and with defined devices
      • Documentation of the initial, intermediate and final measurements
      • Assessment of tested products and documentation of analysis results
      • Preparation of test reports and archiving of test items and test reports
  • Evaluation of the analysis results together with the project team and technical departments  
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.  


Recommended Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 2 years of relevant work experience
