Job Title: Drafter
Department: Design Engineering
Location: Farmington, Connecticut
Summary:
This position is responsible for creating detailed component drawings, completing basic design projects and coordinating engineering change order activities.
Essential Functions of the Job:
The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:
- Create detailed drawings of primarily, but not exclusively, sheet metal components.
- Input data into the AS/400 MRP system to develop Bill of Materials (BOM) product structure.
- Complete design activity for fan prep and base level assemblies.
- Facilitate design review meeting with the relevant project team.
- Maintain Engineering Change Order (ECO) Database
- Complete engineering changes including updating drawings, BOM’s and any other relevant documentation.
- Maintain the Design Engineering backlog and status report.
- Assist/track sheet metal prototypes through the manufacturing process.
- Determine and record work assignments according to worker availability and preferences.
- Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
- Use the following software programs when performing this job: Creo, Microsoft Office products and MAC-PAC.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Recommended Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree in a related field; or minimum two years related experience; or combination of education and related experience.
