The power-operated EC drive solution VarioDrive C is an intelligent alternative to IEC standard motors with variable frequency drives. The adjustable synchronous motor is particularly suitable for applications with quadratic torque.

All the advantages at a glance

The three different sizes M3G 084 / 112 / 150 are characterised by a closed and compact design with integrated electronics. Torques of 1.0 - 20.0 Nm can be achieved in the power range of 500 - 3,000 W and with variable speed control. A robust mechanical design with IP 55 degree of protection and insulation class F guarantees a long service life despite tough ambient conditions. The attachment options are based on the known B14 / B5 flange variant, so it is easy to connect to the customer's application.

Numerous analogue and digital control inputs are available for controlling the motor. It can also be connected via an RS485 interface. Various functions, such as undervoltage detection, thermal overload protection, locked-rotor protection and motor current limitation, ensure that the motor has the necessary safety features. These motors are also tested for EMC according to EN 61000, e.g. interference emission, immunity to interference and circuit feedback. The leakage current < 3.5 mA is guaranteed and ensured in accordance with EN 61800-5-1.

Electronically commutated synchronous motors are characterised by their high efficiency levels. This advantage is particularly noticeable compared to asynchronous machines when controlling the speed in partial-load operation. The greater efficiency means significant energy savings, conserving resources and the environment. Wear on the motor and the driven unit is also reduced in partial-load operation, which increases the service life and reduces the maintenance effort of the application.
