Award-winning energy saver

ebm-papst is appointed member of the Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Group of German Industry. The German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK)acknowledges the environmental commitment of the fan specialist.

Modern technology and creativity are used to substantially reduce energy consumption. Companies that have impressively demonstrated how this can be done were honoured by the DIHK and the German Federal Government at the Haus der Deutschen Wirtschaft ("House of the German Economy") in Berlin as part of the partnership for climate protection, energy efficiency and innovation. The eleven companies rewarded with membership of the group of "CLIMATE PROTECTION COMPANIES".

ebm-papst convinced the jury with its great environmental commitment, for example in the field of power-saving test cabinets, which are used for testing fans.

Markus Mettler, Environmental Officer at ebm-papst since 2001, received the certificate from DIHK CEO Martin Wansleben. "It is a great pleasure for me to know that the efforts we have made to date in the field of environmental protection have been acknowledged with this membership," said Mettler. "We have achieved a great deal with our green company philosophy. And we remain committed to further improvements."

In her keynote speech at the presentation ceremony, Katharina Reiche, Parliamentary Undersecretary at the Federal Ministry of the Environment, praised the energy-saving activities of the companies honoured, stressing: "We sincerely hope that your commitment will encourage others, for it is groundbreaking for the many different ways that entrepreneurial innovation can be practised in the interest of climate protection and energy efficiency."
