Automotive industry faces change - ebm-papst shows latest developments at IAA 2009

With the threat of fossil fuel scarcity and incipient climate change, the automobile world is standing before a change. As the world's leading manufacturer of high-efficiency fans and motors, ebm-papst has demonstrated for years that technical progress and environmental protection are not a contradiction, but rather an inseparable whole.

Whether safety or driving comfort - ebm-papst BLDC drives replace hydraulic systems or realise entirely new driving dynamics concepts.
Whether safety or driving comfort - ebm-papst BLDC drives replace hydraulic systems or realise entirely new driving dynamics concepts.

At Stand B10 in Hall 4.0 of the IAA international motor show in Frankfurt, the development specialist will present new innovations and ideas for future automotive applications. The trade fair opens on 17 September 2009. In hybrid technology - the number one sustainability issue in the automotive industry - ebm-papst will show innovative concepts from hybrid battery ventilation to the intelligent pump drive and from the fuel cell fan to the special clutch actuator.

For reducing CO2 and other emissions, the company will present effective cooling systems for LED headlights, newly developed pump drives for exhaust gas treatment and power-on-demand applications that replace the conventional belt drive of many auxiliary systems.

In the comfort area, ebm-papst excels as a pioneer of seat ventilation and head space heating systems. Also featured will be its range of auxiliary heating and sensor blower products for automatic climate control systems.

In terms of driving dynamics, the development partner will show innovative drive solutions for active steering, rear-axle steering and torque vectoring systems that optimise conventional systems with new types of functions.

"We have addressed fossil fuel scarcity and climate change at an early stage, which are two current topics of the automotive industry", says Dirk Schallock, Managing Director of the ebm-papst company's location in St. Georgen. "Thus we can offer our customers - the manufacturers and system suppliers of the automotive industry - a number of suitable solutions and concepts, which we will feature at the IAA 2009".
