ebm-papst donates 8,400 EUR raised from Christmas raffle

For the third year now, ebm-papst's employees have donated the Christmas gifts they received from business partners to a charitable raffle. The raffle raised 4,200 EUR and the Managing Directors doubled this amount to 8,400 EUR.

ebm-papst has presented 8,400 EUR to the Olgäle Foundation and "Tafelladen" shops in Künzelsau and Bad Mergentheim, Germany.

ebm-papst's Chairman of the Works Counsil, Alexander Kurz, and Press Spokesperson, Hauke Hannig, have now presented the donations to representatives of the Olgäle Foundation in Stuttgart and the non-profit organisation "Tafelladen" in Künzelsau and Bad Mergentheim during a personal visit in Mulfingen.

The Olgäle Foundation for sick children is a non-profit organisation that strives to improve the situation of critically ill children and their parents. The foundation is committed to creating an environment that is suitable for children in the Olgahospital (Olgäle) in Stuttgart, offers child supervision while parents are absent and finances state-of-the-art medical equipment. A donation in the amount of 4,000 EUR was handed over to Gabriele Kilian, Managing Director of the foundation.

The regional "Tafelladen" shops in Künzelsau and Bad Mergentheim have received 2,200 EUR each. Every week, volunteers help to provide food for over 200 people who need assistance.

The shops receive their goods primarily from local supermarkets. "The majority of the food items we receive are close to their expiration date," explains Hermann Stierle, Managing Director of the Diakonie Künzelsau. "We always have demand for non-perishable staple foods such as rice and pasta and gladly accept donations on site," Stierle says further.

Since the requirements for food safety are becoming continuously more stringent, even for the shops of the non-profit organisation, the Künzelsau location will use the donation for further training in this field. The Bad Mergentheim location is using the donation to finance a refrigerated vehicle. Together with the shop in Lauda-Königshofen, the vehicle will be used for trips to the supermarkets.

ebm-papst is planning to hold another Christmas raffle this year and will donate the proceeds to a charitable organisation.
