Quality speaks for itself – ebm-papst awards
ebm-papst wins "Gold Award" of the MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award 2011
According to the tradition, the "MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award" was again bestowed 2011 to innovators of the materials and technology scene. The festive awards ceremony was held in the presence of over 150 guests on the first evening of the Materialica trade fair in Munich. From nearly 150 submissions, the expert jury selected 38 winners in the categories of "Materials", "Surface & Technology", "Product", "CO2 Efficiency" and "Student". ebm-papst made it into the ranks of the Gold Award winners in the "Materials" category with its energy saving fans made of biomaterials. For these fans, the wall ring consists of "epylene," a wood/plastic composite material. With the targeted use of sustainable and resource-conserving biomaterials, these fans make it possible to prevent considerable CO2 emissions during manufacturing, in addition to their already high energy savings in applications such as refrigerated cases.
Baden-Wuerttemberg Environmental Technology Award 2011
In July, Minister of the Environment Franz Untersteller presented the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Award in Stuttgart for particularly excellent environmental technology products that make a great contribution to conserving resources and protecting the environment. The prizes were awarded in four categories: "Energy efficiency", "Material efficiency", "Emission reduction, treatment and separation" and "Process measuring and control technology".This was the second time that ebm-papst was among the winners, taking second place in the 'Energy efficiency' category with its " RadiCal®" GreenTech EC centrifugal fan series.
Design Plus Material Vision 2011
The Design Plus award recognises excellent and particularly innovative design. Every two years, the Design Plus label is awarded to coincide with Material Vision, distinguishing products that make use of innovative materials or processing techniques. With the new energy-saving fans made of biomaterials, ebm-papst is one of the winners of the Design Plus Material Vision Award 2011. These fans are the first to feature a wall ring made of wood/plastic composite material. Using these materials in a way that conserves resources makes it possible to prevent substantial amounts of CO2 emissions, even during manufacturing.
